Cinephiliacs, rest easy. Netflix stays ‘as-is’
That’s right, after the general outcry, Netflix is still Netflix.
The outcry, of course, was over the proposed up and coming revamping of Netflix, which would change the company into two branches. The first was just Netflix, which would be switched to streaming only, with the second being called Qwikster, which is basically what Netflix was when it first came out, a DVD rental service.
After this announcement, Stock for the movie company practically plummeted off the earth. It’s easy to understand why. First of all switching to two branches would mean two websites, two profiles, and two payments. Steve Swasey, a spokesperson for Netflix, was quoted saying “We underestimated the appeal of a single website and single service.”
Basically nothing happened. But just remember that famous line: “Film, Film never changes.
” or something like that.
