Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Cheaters Banned: PermaDouche Possible
Hey, did you know that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 already has cheaters, glitchers, and hackers? It wouldn’t be Call of Duty if someone wasn’t trying to get some kind of unfair advantage over other online players in order to boost their self-confidence. So, it isn’t all that surprising to find that the game has been out for two weeks and they’re already swinging the ban hammer. Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling has stated on his Twitter:
Any attempt to cheat, hack, or glitch in
#MW3 will not be tolerated. 1600+ bans issued. Updates in works. Please cont. to report offenders.
Bowling also confirmed that they are working on updates to fix glitches and exploits and that they are looking into post-match reports. Apparently tattling does make a difference finally.
These reports are sent directly to Infinity Ward’s security team who, Bowling said, “verify reports with in-game stats, in-game video recordings, and other data to verify you were cheating.” The bans are then tailored accordingly. “Every ban [is] unique to the level of douchiness of the offense,” Bowling said. “The greater the douche the greater the length. PermaDouche possible.”
Remember when we used to cheat at games because they were too damn hard? Don’t be a PermaDouche, k?
In other news, Activision Blizzard CEO, Satan… I mean Bobby Kotick has announced that MW3 raked in $775 million on its first five days in sales and is the first game to set a five day launch records three years in a row. If you are really bored and want to see Activision patting itself on the back, read their press release. Even an 87% drop in the UK didn’t keep it from losing the top spot in the charts to Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.
