Eurogamer has some pics of The Last Story Collector’s Edition package for the upcoming European release of the game. Yes, I realize a small population of gamer will actually care about this, but my goal is to spread the good word of the JRPG on the Nintendo Wii’s farewell voyage as the Wii U prepares to take the reigns. I personally will be importing this one as I did with Xenoblade Chronicles. Nintendo had a change of heart, thanks to GameStop (who would’ve ever thought we’d be saying that?) and decided to release Xenoblade Chronicles in the US in March. No such word on The Last Story, but I don’t think I’ll waste any time. Xenoblade Chronicles release is a coup, but it was one of the most pirated games of 2011 and that surely spells doom for sales. That’s too bad as I am thoroughly looking forward to more JRPG goodness from the godfathers of JRPG goodness, Hironobu Sakaguchi and Nobuo Uematsu. Developer, Mistwalker, was responsible for my current favorite RPG on the Xbox 360, Lost Odyssey.

Who says the JRPG is dead? Well…a lot of people actually, but count me as one of the few who still thoroughly enjoys the genre and if by chance you haven’t played Xenoblade Chronicles, play it.
