Wii U Might Release By Christmas Time

Wii U Controller

Nintendo hasn’t talked much about the release date of the Wii U. They have said multiple times that it should be out sometime in 2012. Reuters reported that Satura Iwata hinted that the system would release in all territories by Christmas time. The tidbit of info came from an investors briefing, which could bring validity to the news. We will get the official story when Nintendo releases the translations of the briefing.

When the console was originally announced at E3, Nintendo was hinting at a summer of 2012 release. This means it’s a little later than we originally hoped for, but at least we will be getting it before the year is up. The bad news is this means that most of 2012 will be spent with the Wii, and this could make for another slow year for Nintendo fans.
