Street Fighter X Tekken Exclusive PS3 and PS Vita Characters
It really is hard to judge Capcom’s decisions on these batch of exclusive characters that will appear only on the PS3 and PS Vita. Brace yourselves Xbox 360 owners. Sony is getting Kuro and Toro, the Sony Cats, Cole McGrath from inFamous, Pac-Man, and, get this, a fat Mega Man designed after the NES Mega Man 1 box art. Now, it is an official stance that the 360 will not see any exclusive characters to the system (at launch anyway, who is to say they don’t add more through DLC). Yoshinori Ono made that clear in an interview with Xbox360achievements.org, stating:
“We do have the exclusive characters for the Sony platform. We have Cole, the two Sony cats, Kuro and Toro. But basically for the Xbox 360, we were in discussions with them (Microsoft) for which character to put in as an exclusive, but we weren’t able to decide on a character because of differences in timing and things like that,” Ono told X360A. “So unfortunately for Street Fighter X Tekken, only the PlayStation family will be getting the exclusive characters, but it’s something we wish could have happened. It’s just too bad, basically.”
Watch this trailer and as a 360 owner, tell me you are really that upset about not getting these characters.
There is plenty of outcry about the abuse of Mega Man on Capcom-Unity. There’s also some complaining by 360 owners that Capcom doesn’t care about them. I’m a little disappointed that the 360 version (the version I would be buying) doesn’t have exclusive characters, but I don’t want Gears of War or Halo in my Street Fighter and Tekken. Do we really want to see Marcus Fenix breaking out a Lancer and chainsawing someone? Save that crap for the other versus series. Keep your cats, your Namco icon, and your portly, abused futuristic Blue Bomber. I wouldn’t play as them anyway.
