Dishonored and Hitman: Absolution Get Release Dates

Dishonored-Debut-Trailer

Finally after months of waiting around we’ve gotten solid release dates for both Arkane Studios’ Dishonored and IO Interactive’s Hitman: Absolution.

October 9th 2012 PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 gamers will get to step into the boots of Corvo – a bodyguard gone rogue – as he attempts to track down and repay those responsible for framing him for murder. Dishonored looks to be a mix between shooter and stealth-action genres set inside a steampunk world. The more and more we learn about this game the more exciting it all gets. I’m personally keeping a keen eye on this title…

Hitman: Absolution, the long awaited continuation of the franchise, will be hitting shelves November 20th 2012 for all three systems as well. However, by pre-purchasing the title with Gamestop you can gain access to the Hitman: Sniper Challenge content starting May 15th. Essentially, gamers who qualify for the challenge will get to play an isolated scenario from the game way ahead of release. As Agent 47 your objective is to eliminate a target and his entire entourage while achieving the highest score possible. Everyone’s scores will then be compiled onto a leaderboard, and the person who holds the top spot when Absolution releases will win a trip for two to Cophenhagen to meet the game’s creators and have their likeness integrated into the next Hitman game. In addition, a special sniper rifle and any/all unlockables and upgrades you may have earned in the challenge will carry over to the main game.

So we’ve got October 9th and November 20th. Circle the dates, place those pre-orders, and take some vacation time – it’s shaping up to be a thrilling Q4.
