Tomb Raider Delayed Until Q1 2013
Another week, another game that’s been pushed to the edge of the 2012-cliff, and fallen into the perilous pit of 2013. (At least that’s how I’m seeing it in my head.) Not long ago, we were soured by the news of Ni no Kuni and Bioshock Infinite‘s delay, and now Tomb Raider – originally planned for Fall of 2012 – has been pushed to the first quarter of 2013 for some extra polish that Crystal Dynamics believes is necessary to “deliver the very highest quality game.”
“We’re doing things that are completely new to Tomb Raider in this game and the additional development time will allow us to put the finishing touches into the game and polish it to a level that you deserve,” wrote Crystal Dynamics Head Darrell Gallagher. “We believe this is the right choice and I guarantee it will be worth the wait.”
