Diablo III – Real Money Auction House Goes Live

Diablo-III-Box-Art

Praise the heavens, there is now a solution to all of our problems. Having trouble in Inferno? Can’t seem to find any gear for your hero? Is there money burning a hole in your pocket? Fret not! You can now spend real money in the Diablo III auction house (assuming you’re in one of the regions where it was released). With some items listed for hundreds of dollars (who knows if anyone is actually buying all that yet), now is your chance to jump into the “equipment farming market” and make some cold hard cash from all your play time. Blizzard only takes a small cut of your earnings… $1.00 or 15%, depending on what you sold.

Being a huge League of Legends fan, I’ve done my part to support gaming and bought the HD viewing package, so you can expect LoL updates throughout the weekend on both Addicted-Gamers and my Twitter account: @ManusDeiV.

Diablo III Review Part 2 – Loot and the Auction House

Diablo-III-Box-Art

This is the second review in a series for Diablo III. If you missed the initial review and would like to read it first, you can do so here.

If there is one thing I’ve pursued more than women, it’s loot in a Blizzard game. Why do you raid in World of Warcraft? To get better loot. Why do you need better loot? To raid in WoW… and so the cycle continues. It may even predate the chicken and the egg, but I’m not sure who is counting on that one. And now yet again, we find ourselves grinding and farming for that illusive best-in-slot item.

Funcom’s upcoming MMO, The Secret World, has been in the making for a few years now and will have another couple weeks on top of that. This most recent two-week  push-back is due to “market reasons,” but also allows for some more beta testing.

Haven’t heard about The Secret World? Check out the videos below for a general overview of the game. Set in modern times, The Secret World brings all the myths, legends, and conspiracies we once believed were false to life. Zombies, werewolves, ghosts, pharaohs, demons, you name it.

Diablo III PC Review – First Impressions & The Result of Our Long Wait

Diablo 3 Box Art

Platform: PC
Publisher: Blizzard Entertainment
Developer: Blizzard Entertainment
Genre: Action/RPG
Release Date: May 15, 2012
ESRB: M- Mature

This is the first review in a series for Diablo III. There will be follow-ups focusing on certain aspects, but this is a general overview of the first playthrough for new and returning players. Edit: loot review.

Having not played the previous Diablo games, I will be giving a fresh look at a well-established series. To be honest, I hadn’t even intended on picking up Diablo 3 this summer (let the blasphemous cries commence). However, you can blame my impulse Diablo 3 purchase on both peer pressure and a little nostalgia of my old Blizzard fling. So coming into it I already had a lot of respect for Blizzard and their games. Not only do they release quality material, but they also have a good time doing it. This is shown in all their references to other games and pop culture (no spoilers here, play the game and pay attention to find them). It all boils down to this: we knew Diablo 3 would be a good game, but did it live up to the hype and can we call it a great, must-play game even for new players? Read on to find out.

League of Legends PC Review – Money Can’t Buy Happiness, But It Does Buy RP…

Genre: Action RTS
Release Date: October 27, 2009
ESRB: T – Teen

In an age when games can range upwards of $50 or include monthly fees just to play, it is refreshing to see a free game that draws more than a paltry number of fans. Enter League of Legends (LoL). This free action RTS from Riot Games boasts more active players than World of Warcraft without the soul-sucking aspects of an MMO. Having sold my soul to WoW once (we won’t go into detail about how I got it back), I was very cautious when I first heard of LoL. When I finally broke down and gave it a go, I was surprised to find it to be fun and casual. But the scope of LoL goes well beyond that. Over the next six months, I developed a love-hate relationship with one of the most successful eSports PC games.
