This is almost surreal. I'm looking at registering for this fall. I got some financial aid too.

ASU has a full on online program for many of their degrees. I'll be going into the Walter Cronkite school of journalism and mass communication for a BA in Mass Communication and Media Studies. Things are going to change massively!

Aliens is still the worst of the year so far for me. I'm trying to decide if I liked Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City more and that's bad. That was my worst game last year (I didn't play Amy THANK GOD).

Aliens Colonial Marines, Star Trek, yikes...

Just a preview of my upcoming Star Trek review. These games are battling it out for worst of the year.

No particular order because it tends to change by one or two movies:

The Godfather 1/2 - I actually count these together because it really is the first time in history that a movie and its sequel are equally good or the sequel is even considered better.

Goodfellas
Donnie Brasco - You see a pattern yet?
Conan the Barbarian - Classic movie, classic soundtrack
Lord of the Rings 1 & 2 - Return of the King is good, but it feels so padded at times.
Starship Troopers
Predator
Drunken Master 2 - Not the Legend of the Drunken Master US rerelease. It is missing scenes and has completely different music
Tombstone
The Dark Knight

That always on broke the deal, but i was leaning sony anyways

There really needs to be more clarification on it before I make the decision, but as it is, I am leaning heavily towards Sony on this one. I was one of the many who had to sit around for a couple of days on Diablo III and stare at an error message because the whole system crashed.

We'll have updates on all the rumors on the site, but here's what is out there that seems "credible"

  • Always-on is most likely a reality
  • There will be a $500 package and a $300 package, but the lesser package will require an Xbox Live monthly subscription, kind of like cell phone service
  • Achievements will be reworked to include adding cheevos without DLC or even for special events or parameters
  • Blu-Ray
  • Windows 8 platform
  • Larger friends list capacity
  • Video capture and sharing (Ustream, Facebook, probably YouTube)

The question here is, will going the route of an "entertainment" unit versus a dedicated console hurt them?

This game is kicking my butt. I'm such a completionist that every time I lose a character in a mission I start it over. Now I hit a difficulty spike and I"m a little unsure of how I can level my characters up since some of them seem to be behind the curve.

I haven't seen the trailer. I've never been a Supes guy, so i'm kind of indifferent.

Alright awesome, thanks for the suggestions, I will check some of those out. I will also check out those people you mentioned. I have also been told that Grant Morrison is really good

Grant Morrison is good, but I think he's sometimes a little too "out there". Comics have really been great in the last decade and a half for being more known about the good writing. There's a lot of talent out there.

I have been out of comics for a few years now, so I can't speak to what is current. I can give you plenty of reads that you could go back and pick up trade paperbacks on.

I've always leaned more to the DC side, but I think some of the best stuff in the last ten years has been indie stuff.

Superman: Red Son
Kingdom Come
Y: The Last Man
Fables
JSA: The Liberty Files
Golden Age
Marvels
Batman: Year One
Batman: Long Halloween

There's tons more but I'll also say this, look for almost anything by Ed Brubaker, Matt Fraction, Greg Rucka, and Brian K. Vaughan.

I'll come up with some more when I get home. This is just off the top of my head.
