The 3DS had an unsettling entry onto the market. Its lackluster launch contained no iconic Nintendo franchise to drive sales.  Sorry Pilotwings Resort; you’re no Zelda or Mario. A majority of early adopters settled for a port of Super Street Fighter to soothe their pain. To make matters worse, Nintendo fans would not get their hands on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D Edition or access to the eShop until the following summer.

On March 27, 2012 the 3DS will celebrate its first birthday, but how does it compare nearly a year later?
