Aliens: Colonial Marines Collector’s Edition Is Amazing
If you are already planning on picking up Aliens: Colonial Marines when it releases on February 12, 2013, then you should really consider shelling out $100 for the Collector’s Edition. Many collector’s editions these days really aren’t worth the money that you are asked to spend on them, but in this case for $40 extra you get all of this:
- Powerloader vs. Xenomorph statuette
- USCM dossier which contains a mission briefing
- Schematic of the USS Sephora
- Recruitment card
- Iron-on badges
- Recon photos
- USCM graduation certificate
- Several digital items, including Ripley’s flamethrower, additional marine customization options, two bonus multiplayer weapons, and an exclusive level
- Actual Facehugger recovered from a mining mission on Mars
Okay, maybe I made up that last one but come on, how awesome would that be? If you want this collector’s edition, you should pre-order it soon as things like this usually aren’t available to pre-order for too long.

Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Incoming?
When it comes to multiplayer I’m a big fan. Being able to go online with a handful of friends and kill stuff together, or kill each other is just great fun. But when you’re talking about Mass Effect I’d much rather have a 100% dedicated team to building the best single player experience possible. I hold the Mass Effect series near and dear to my heart; the first time I saved Ashley, that moment when your ship pulls up to the Citadel and you get that feeling of this galaxy is a lot bigger than you. These are all things that made this series special to me.
Granted it’s true that this universe is ripe for some multiplayer but, I don’t want the core single player experience to be touched or diminished in any way. If they’d like to come back at a later date with some Mass Effect Online, I’d be a full supporter.
