Exalted March DLC Cancelled
First being revealed via Dragon Age‘s executive producer Mark Darrah’s Twitter and then through an official statement on the BioWare forums the planned Exalted March DLC for Dragon Age 2 has been officially cancelled. Instead, Darrah writes, the Dragon Age team will be shifting the entirety of their focus onto the next game in the series (this being the closest thing to an official Dragon Age 3 reveal yet).
Personally I’m a little upset at this news. While I won’t hesitate to admit that Dragon Age 2 was leagues behind Origins and had plenty of issues on its own I still found some enjoyment in it – especially the Legacy and Mark of the Assassin DLCs which vividly demonstrated that BioWare was listening to its fans and making the right changes where they were needed. There’s just something about the Dragon Age series that I like so much and missing out on some additional content that was coming down the pipe makes me a little sad.
Oh well, here’s hoping that the Dragon Age team has what it takes to make the third game in the franchise the best out of them all. The pressure is certainly on after the fan reaction to the second game and the fact that BioWare has wrapped up its all-star Mass Effect series for the moment.
