Original Fallout Free For 48 hours on GOG.com

Fallout Box Art

Previously Good Old Games but now newly-named GOG.com is offering the original Fallout free for the next 48 hours – until 23:59 GMT on April 8, specifically. The free version will include, on top of the game itself, a 205 page “Fallout Bible”, and fallout-themed wallpapers, avatars and artwork.

The promotion is no doubt to celebrate the re-launch/rebirth of GOG.com, but it’s also a perfect opportunity for you to get hands-on with an RPG classic and possibly prepare for what’s to come in Brian Fargo’s recently Kickstarted Wasteland 2.

Whatever your motives: It’s free, after all, why not check it out?

As reported by Eurogamer, the intellectual property rights now rest solely with Bethesda, with Interplay’s license to make a Fallout MMO being completely nullified. However, there is a pretty hefty settlement of $2 million being paid to Interplay by Bethesda parent company, Zenimax.
