Controversy: Mass Effect 3′s Day One DLC
Lest you’ve been holed up in a cave for the last few days you no doubt have heard about the new controversy spilling out over the internet revolving around BioWare’s upcoming Mass Effect 3. Specifically, gamers are livid in light of the news that the sci-fi RPG will be getting From Ashes, a purchasable DLC pack, alongside the main game on release day (March 6th). Originally planned as being only available to those that ordered the Collector’s Edition, From Ashes contains a new squad member from the previously thought extinct Prothean race.
Day one DLC, and the still present argument against it, is nothing new in the industry but this particular one seems to have hit quite the nerve with gamers – many claiming that this content was knowingly removed from the main game in order to squeeze out even more money from eager fans. Countless people spanning thousands of forums and websites have been continuously arguing over the subject with plenty of accusations and threats being thrown at BioWare and EA ranging from promises to cancel pre-orders, admissions of the intent to pirate the game, and some have even sworn to shut down their Star Wars: The Old Republic accounts in protest.
Well gamers I have something to say, and you’re not going to like it: you’re idiots…
