Merry Christmas (Happy Holidays if you prefer) from Addicted-Gamers. As we look toward our first new year, here’s hoping you made the best of 2011. Speaking of best of 2011, the little Addicted-Gamer elves are polishing up our very first annual, Best of 2011 & Game of the Year Awards. For now, take the day off, enjoy family, presents, sports, or if you’re here, read any of our reviews or feature articles. Shameless plug…
I think I’ll spend some time gibbing gamers on Gears of War 3 with my new wireless headset.
Perhaps your attention is starting to detract from Gears, and it’s understandable considering the barrage of awesome games in 2011. But with the continuing inclusion of extra content, Microsoft and Epic are sure making it difficult to move on.
Fenix Rising, the third major DLC pack for Gears of War 3, is coming January 17th for 800 Microsoft Points or if you have a Season Pass, it’s free. Fenix Rising will include new and old maps, character and weapon skins, and a “Re-Up” feature.
Best Buy Deal of the Day features Gears of War 3 and 800 MSP for only $34.99 with free shipping. If you don’t have one of the best threequels to come out this year, today is the perfect day. You can actually choose the $149.99 Epic Edition to get the free 800 MSP, but that’s not a deal and is the opposite of what I’m trying to do for you…save you money.
That’s right folks, the second title update, technically the first patch, is now live! Well technically not right now, but it will be reached by most gamers on the 16th, from 2-4 A.M. pacific time. This update is second only to the one which reset the leaderboards for those fortunate enough to have a crack at the game before it’s September 20th release.
After the break, there is the list of fixes also seen on the Gears of War community site.
But! Today Epic Games announced the second DLC pack set to be released on Dec. 13th. Wow, they honor me with the release of RAAM’s Shadow on my birthdays (belly button and sober). I have my Season Pass, so I’m set.
While updating where I can, I’ve been extremely busy with that pesky real life. I’ve also been playing Xenoblade Chronicles with every spare moment I can get. Nintendo of America has definitely missed the boat on this one as I believe any hardcore JRPG fan may have already imported this game anyway. I’ll have some impressions up soon and a full review as soon as I’ve completed the game.
I’m trying to get some new contributors lined up but I’m still looking for more help. Any contributions are appreciated. I’m really looking for news updates and review help though. I’d like to reach some specific goals with Addicted-Gamers. If you want to contribute, just email firstname.lastname@example.org
Hard to believe that the year is winding down. Tomorrow is the release of Batman: Arkham City. Next week is Battlefield 3 and two weeks later is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. I’ve got a massive backlog of games I’d like to get to and Gears of War 3 is calling me to come back. It’s song is so enchanting. I need to gib noobs with my Sawed-Off…
Settle down folks, this one is gonna take the long haul. Epic was probably thinking: “How do we make it so our players always have something to do? Oh, and let’s make it so they’re pissed off while we’re at it.” That’s right, the infamous Serious achievement gets it’s 3rd treatment. What does this require? While it isn’t kill related -Seriously… being 10,000 ranked kills and 2.0 being at a whopping 100,000- This 100g achievement will take much, much longer and involve more tedious boosting/playing to obtain. Following the break I will include, specifically for you Addicted-Gamers faithful, an overview and general guide for nabbing this ever so evasive achievement.
If you haven’t gotten the hint that you suck and should play something else or you truly want some help getting better at Gears of War 3 Multiplayer, I highly recommend you check out the Addicted-Gamers Gears of War 3 Multiplayer Survival Guide. Or, you can keep being someone’s Sawed-Off bitch. Check out the list after the jump.
Do you hear that? It is the cacophony of victory roars by those Gears of War 3 gamers who have spent many rounds spectating more than playing due to lives cut short by the Sawed-Off Shotgun and the screaming of gamers in the fetal position because their favorite gun has been hit by the Epic Games Nerf Bat. The Sawed-Off still works as intended, killing any fool stupid enough to step in front of it.
The twins are satisfied.
We have had more hits in the last two days than any other days previous and are on a very encouraging pace for the next week considering the site has been up for less than three months. I’ve got a few new editors working on projects for the site. I would like to thank everyone who has visited and continues to visit the site and would encourage you to tell your friends about us.
