Dishonored and Hitman: Absolution Get Release Dates

Dishonored-Debut-Trailer

Finally after months of waiting around we’ve gotten solid release dates for both Arkane Studios’ Dishonored and IO Interactive’s Hitman: Absolution.

October 9th 2012 PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 gamers will get to step into the boots of Corvo – a bodyguard gone rogue – as he attempts to track down and repay those responsible for framing him for murder. Dishonored looks to be a mix between shooter and stealth-action genres set inside a steampunk world. The more and more we learn about this game the more exciting it all gets. I’m personally keeping a keen eye on this title…

New Hitman: Absolution Trailer – The Art of the Kill

Hitman Absolution

The latest trailer for Hitman Absolution, narrated by some lady who clearly enjoys telling tales of Agent 47′s murderous deeds, is about The Art of the Kill, but really, it’s an exhibition put on for both audiences the game’s taking aim at now. If you want to sneak in, taking refuge in the shadows, disguising yourself as all matter of public service employees, to take-out your target silently (which is how Agent 47 would do it), you can totally do that. If you want to equip an assault rifle, kick the door down, and kill everyone as sirens ring out and explosions erupt all around, you can do that, too.

It’s a pretty controversial decision, and one I’m not completely sold on, for fear that the game might possibly pay more mind to the explosion-crazed crowd than to the wants of the Hitman series faithful.

Check out the trailer below – the bits where he’s acting as a proper Hitman are wonderful.
