As if rallying around its own title, Ubisoft’s I Am Alive somehow managed to endure over the last four years in spite of countless setbacks and changes. Surviving a total studio switch in 2010 (Darkworks to Ubisoft Shanghai) and somehow making the cut in 2011 when Ubisoft announced cancellations, I Am Alive finally released on March 7th 2012 hoping to make a significant impact on the digital arcade market – something which the developer/publisher had failed to do with From Dust.

Unfortunately, the end-product ended up offering what a majority of games which spend years in development-hell do: an overall unsatisfying and disappointing experience…

I Am Alive PSN Release Date Finally Revealed

I Am Alive Coming to XBLA and PSN

I Am Alive released on the Xbox 360 March 7, and now it’s finally coming to the PlayStation Network. It’ll drop in America on April 3 and in Europe on April 4, and will set you back a cool $14.99.

In I Am Alive, you wander through a post-apocalyptic environment, filled with dust, crazed survivors and crumbling buildings, as a man in search of his family. And, in light of the disaster, people are completely batty, so suspect everyone wants to kill you.

The game has received mixed reviews on the Xbox 360, so don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I Am Alive Dev Diary Unearthed

iamalive1

I Am Alive has had its share of woes over the course of its four-year development cycle. From rumors of cancellation to becoming a downloadable title, the game has taken a difficult route to get where it’s at today. Naturally, we want to get our hands on it, but I suppose a developer diary will do, for now.

The developers at Ubisoft Shanghai put together a “making of” video to highlight and inform on the game’s many features before the launch, only a few days away. In the video (below) they discuss the combat, exploration, stamina and inventory mechanics, and the importance of creating a believable and realistic setting.

I Am Alive will live on XBLA on March 7. The Playstation 3 version has no release date, but Ubisoft confirms it’s still coming, soon!

I Am Alive Finally Gets Release Date

Ubisoft’s post-apocalyptic survival game I Am Alive has finally gotten a release date: March 7th 2012 on Xbox Live for 1200 MSP (or $15).

Finally after all the years of waiting, rumors of its cancellation, and watching the game change from what it originally was to what it is now we’re going to actually get our hands on it. I’m excited to say the least, this game has had my interest since it’s 2008 E3 trailer premiered. Read on for more information on the game and the latest trailer.

Ubisoft Says I Am Alive is Still…Alive Due This Winter for XBLA and PSN

I Am Alive Coming to XBLA and PSN
Ubisoft has announced that they plan on bringing I Am Alive to Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network (sorry DJ, no PC). Delays have marred this game’s release. It is/was an interesting concept and I’m curious to know how it turns out as a downloadable game instead of a full retail release.
