First Wasteland 2 Concept Art Revealed
With the game only just having been announced and its Kickstarter campaign still going strong, Wasteland 2 is in no way close to a reality yet, but Inxile Entertainment has found the time to develop some thoughts and release the first piece of concept art (full image below).
The art was revealed over on their Kickstarter page, which currently sits at $2.2 million – over twice the amount of its original goal. And because the company has also surpassed $2.1 million, as previously stated, Obsidian Entertainment and Chris Avellone will be joining the design team to help create the game, which we should all rejoice about.
There’s only 6 days left before the Wasteland 2 Kickstarter ends, so there’s still time to become a backer. Or, maybe you just want a new wallpaper, something you can stare at until the game is playable, in which case, go to the Wasteland 2 homepage.
Obsidian Will Work on Wasteland 2 If the Kickstarter Reaches $2.1m
Brian Fargo and his studio InXile Entertainment have successfully Kickstarted their Wasteland 2 project, which currently sits comfy above their original goal of $900,000 at $1.8 million, and have decided to take it a step further by bringing in some additional muscle – but only if they raise some additional money. They’ve gone public to say that if their Kickstarter reaches the newly set goal of $2.1 million, they’re going to enlist Obsidian Entertainment, including Chief Creative Officer Chris Avellone, one of the brilliant minds behind Planescape: Torment, to help make the game.
Fargo and Avellone, of course, worked together at Interplay back in the day. Combined the two have had a hand in titles like Fallout 1 and 2, and the previously mentioned Planescape: Torment. It’s safe to say that they are more than familiar with each other, and both understand the craft of creating an RPG.
Chris Avellone’s words on the opportunity:
Wasteland is one of my favorite RPGs of all time, and when Brian asked if I wanted to work on the sequel, I jumped at the chance. While I’ve worked on Fallout 2 and Fallout: New Vegas, getting the chance to work on the spiritual predecessor to the Fallout franchise is a honor.
