First Video For 38 Studios’ “Project Copernicus” Revealed

Despite all of the financial problems that have been plaguing 38 Studios lately, they seem to have been able to find the time to release a video for a new MMO that will be set in the world of Amalur.

The video shows several locations that will be in the game and a release window of June 2013 has bee set for the title.

The Teeth of Naros is the second full-fledged DLC release for Kingdoms of Amalur in as many months, this time focusing on a new region called the Teeth of Naros and its floating city, Idylla. Your character is recruited to join an expedition to discover what treasures lie in the hidden lands. Upon arriving, you meet a race of beings known as the Kollossae who have lived in these lands for centuries. Their leader, The Primos, has been in seclusion for years trying to earn the forgiveness of the gods who the Kollossae believe are punishing them. This is where you come in.

The Legend of Dead Kel DLC for Kingdoms of Amalur takes place on an entirely new part of the map called Gallow’s End. You volunteer to take out a murderous pirate by the name of Dead Kel, whose crimes have gone unpunished for too long. You are accompanied to Gallow’s End by the eccentric Captain Brattigan. While The Legend of Dead Kel only lasts a few hours, it supplies more of what made the core game so great.

As Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning begins, you are shown a short introductory cutscene before being given control of your character. Very little is explained before you gain control but that just makes it all the more fun to try and figure out just what is going on. Thankfully, it doesn’t take long to get used to the controls so you should be dispatching enemies and rifling through loot like a pro before you even get out of the first dungeon.

Steam and EA Back on Good Relations?

In the severely off chance that you missed it in the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning demo article, EA’s upcoming fantasy RPG of epic proportions has suddenly appeared for sale on Valve’s popular digital distributor Steam. If you’re a Steam user or just have some insight into the ups and downs of the gaming industry you may recall the controversy last spring that erupted between the mammoth publisher and Valve over a change in the latter’s terms of service. In a nut shell this change would supposedly effect the way in which gamers purchased and downloaded DLC and even received patches for their games.
