Bayonetta 2 Wii U Exclusive

bayonetta 2

Probably the biggest surprise this morning is that Nintendo managed to snatch up an exclusive title, the sequel to Platinum Games’ blockbuster action game, Bayonetta. However, don’t get too excited just yet. It appears the title will not release any time soon, as no release date was given nor was any actual gameplay footage shown. The only thing shown was a brief  teaser trailer with the game’s official logo. One last tidbit is that the game will be published by Nintendo. Kudos to them! Check out the trailer below:

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Due in February

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will launch on February 19 in North America, February 21 in Europe and February 22 in the UK.

The release date was first revealed yesterday at Gamescom, and afterwards series creator Hideo Kojima tweeted out an image of the game’s official website, which featured a trailer and the release date for Japan. Then a Konami press release later illuminated the dates for other territories.

Developed by Platinum Games, the studio behind Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising is a spin-off of the Metal Gear Solid series, that focuses on constant hack and slash action rather than stealth espionage. And you won’t be playing as Solid Snake; you’ll be playing as cyborg ninja Raiden. Check out the incredibly gory Gamescom trailer below.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance E3 2012 Trailer

During their pre-E3 event, Konami revealed a new action packed trailer for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. In this trailer, Raiden manages to completely obliterate a helicopter with a sword and run up a 90 degree angle. The feats performed in this video are pretty incredible, especially since they are being performed by a man who used to do naked cartwheels while covering his junk.

The fact that Revengeance is being developed by Platinum Games explains why the gameplay looks a lot like Bayonetta, only with a sword wielding ninja instead of an absurdly promiscuous witch. Despite that fact, Revengeance still looks like a lot of fun and should at the very least be an interesting addition to the Metal Gear franchise when it releases early next year.
