Playstation Blog senior social media specialist Sid Shuman went on Twitter yesterday and made a post which stated “We have revealed the full launch lineup of characters”. That means Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale will launch with 20 playable characters, although it is certainly possible that more characters will be added as DLC later on. These are the characters that the game will launch with when it releases for the PS Vita and PS3 on November 20th:
1. Nariko
2. Jak & Daxter
3. Fat Princess

5. Cole Macgrath
6. Evil Cole Macgrath

14. Sly Cooper
15. Sweet Tooth

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Delayed
SuperBot Entertainment’s Chan Park posted on the PlayStation Blog earlier this morning to tell fans that in order to live up to the high expectations of Sony’s crossover-fighter, they’ll be moving the release date from October 23 to November 20 for both North America and Latin America.
“While it is our greatest desire to put this game into the hands of our fans as soon as possible, we do not want to do so at the sake of quality,” wrote SuperBot’s Chan Park. The additional time will be well worth the wait, and we are excited to know that our fans will have the ultimate brawler in time for the holiday.”
Earlier this morning, the post popped up on the PS Blog and immediately disappeared, but it’s since been put back up, solidifying the delay – or as they call it, a move.
Infamous’ Cole MacGrath & Jak and Daxter added to PlayStation All-Stars roster
Fans of Sony’s Super Smash Bros clone will have been eagerly anticipating today’s news from the All-Stars Comic-Con panel and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Whilst the names were hardly a shock, it is certainly reassuring to hear the developers talk about fan service and, with Jak and Daxter being without a new release in three years (barring the HD re-release), it seems that Santa Monica are certainly listening to what the fans want. The videos after the jump showcase both sets of combatants in action.
Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale Officially Announced
After months of rumors and speculation, Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale was officially announced by Sony last night on Gametrailers TV. The game will resemble the Super Smash Bros. series with its 2D levels and 4 player fighting. The full cast of characters has yet to be announced.
As of this time only six characters have been confirmed: Sly Cooper, Sweet Tooth, Kratos, Colonel Radoc, Parappa the Rapper, and Fat Princess. There are plenty of rumors around the internet for future character announcements, ranging from Nathan Drake and Cole MacGrath to Solid Snake and Ratchet, but as of right now they are just speculation.
If done right, Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale has the potential to be an incredibly fun and addictive game, just as the Super Smash Bros. games were. Only time will tell if SuperBot Entertainment has a gem on their hands, or just a dud.
