Telltale Games Details New Series The Wolf Among Us, Coming this Summer

The Wolf Among Us

The Walking Dead developer Telltale Game’s newest episodic series will be The Wolf Among Us, a game based on DC Comic’s popular Fables franchise.

The Wolf Among Us will act as a prequel to the Fables comic book series, which sees fairytale characters forced to abandon their own world because of war, and into ours to live out lives that draw parallels from their respective tales but with a darker, grittier tone.

The series will follow detective Bigby Wolf (or Big Bad Wolf). Exiled to New York City, the game will follow him as he tries to protect characters like the Three Little Pigs and Mr. Toad from being discovered. Because of the game’s nature – similar to that of the Walking Dead – your choices will play a large role in the outcome of the story and the fate of characters.

These are the first solid details that have been revealed for a game announced in 2011. Following their largest success to date, which kind of put them on the map, there’s a fair amount of pressure to deliver (think, the year after a breakout MVP season, or something like that) and this was a good move on Telltale’s part, staying within material that’s character-driven. “Through an evolution of our approach to choice and consequence, we can further explore the complexity of each and every iconic character in a universe rich with untold history from the darkest sides of the storybooks,” Telltale CEO Dan Connors told IGN.”

The downloadable series will launch this summer for Mac, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 – and don’t be surprised if we see some mobile versions announced as well.

First Trailer for The Walking Dead:Episode 4- Around Every Corner

Walking Dead

TellTale Games has released a trailer for Episode 4 of their fantastic The Walking Dead game, titled “Around Every Corner”. This episode is written by Gary Whitta, who wrote the script for The Book of Eli.

TellTale Games also stated in their press release that they will be revealing the release date for episode 4 very soon, with episode 5 following not long after. All 5 episodes will be bundled and released at retail stores later this year. I personally can’t wait to see what happens with Lee, Clem, and the rest of the group in the next episode.

The Walking Dead: Episode 3- Long Road Ahead Review- Storytelling Perfected

When it was first announced that Telltale Games was going to make an episodic game set in the universe of Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead, I was understandably hesitant. However, I decided that I would give at least the first episode a chance when it released, and I couldn’t be happier that I did. After playing episode one I was surprised, after playing episode two I was hooked, and now after playing episode three the only word I can think of to describe how I feel is enthralled.

As I sat down last night to play episode three, I was already excited to see where this entry was going to take Lee and the other survivors. During the following three hours I laughed, cursed at people on the screen who regrettably couldn’t hear me, felt genuine sadness, and sat in absolute stunned silence after experiencing one of the most shocking moments I have seen in a video game in a long time. Everything in this episode was paced to perfection, never once becoming boring or tedious.

The Walking Dead Episode 3: Long Road Ahead Gets a Release Date

The Walking Dead Episode 3

The Walking Dead Episode Three is on its way “very soon,” and new conflicts are abound.

After setting up camp in a motel just outside Macon, Lee and the group are further experiencing rampant paranoia and dramatic decision making – the kind you’d expect a group of folks fighting off hordes of the undead would. They’ll be experiencing more of it too, as they decide to pack up and move on. At least that’s what I’m gleaning from this trailer of The Walking Dead Episode 3: Long Road Ahead (via IGN), and from this recently released screenshot of Lee combating a zombie helicopter pilot. Oh, and I didn’t forget – there’s also a release date.

Long Road Ahead will be arriving tomorrow, August 28, on PlayStation Network, and then on Xbox Live Arcade, PC and Mac on August 29. Notably, The Walking Dead Episode 2: Starved for Help will arrive on the App Store the same day.

Today marked the release of the very first episode of Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead. Based on Robert Kirkman’s comic series of the same name this five-part “season” follows the story of Lee Everett as he, much like everyone else in Kirkman’s world, attempts to survive the zombie apocalypse. Coming off of a couple of mediocre releases, fans were a bit concerned when it was announced that Telltale would be taking the wheel for the game. However after playing through the first episode A New Day I can honestly say that the developer has never been at their finest…
