Prepare to get pumped fellow assassins because today Ubisoft released the first ever gameplay footage from the upcoming Assassin’s Creed III. You can find the trailer below but let me just say that this is easily becoming my most anticipated game of the year – it might even top Firaxis’ incoming remake XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Combat and free-running seems to be the most fluid and natural looking the series has ever produced (despite the fact that this is a pre-alpha build) and the large scale battles Connor must cut his way through look to be nothing less than epic.

Also notice at the end of the video that pre-order swag is making its way to the game. By pre-purchasing Assassin’s Creed III at Gamestop you’ll get an additional mission (Lost Mayan Ruins) and a new weapon (the Sawtooth Sword).
