Wolfenstein 3D Free In Celebration of its 20th Anniversary
My, has it been that long already? I’m reluctant to believe it, but it’s true. As of today, Wolfenstein 3D is a full 20 years old. To celebrate, id Software have made a free browser based version of the game, which you can go play here. Alongside that news, for one day only, you’ll also be able to pick up the IOS version for free as well.
I understand that not everyone will want to go back and play Wolfenstein 3D – it may seem archaic now or maybe you’ve already played the game and have no interest in playing more – so there’s also this interesting “director’s commentary” by id Software co-founder and lead programmer John Carmack, wherein he gives insight into the game, some of the challenges faced in development and his amazement with how far games have come. View that below.
